Our Stories

Violinist

Dear readers,

Thank you for showing interest in learning more about little me (Han-Jou)!

I was born into a musical family in which my dad is a conductor, my aunt is a cellist, and my mom, another aunt, cousins and grandmother are all piano teachers. Fun! I knew that I would become a musician before I even had my first violin lesson.

Fast-forward over 25 years later, I’ve now graduated from McGill University and Montreal University with two music degrees. I’m an inspired full-time violin teacher at la musique aux enfants, a music education initiative by maestro Kent Nagano.

During weekday evenings and weekends, I enjoy performing in concerts and events with chamber music, orchestra and choirs.

I believe that music is deeply rooted in human beings. Aligning sound vibrations with the same frequencies of a mood can energize a crowd of people and also bring calmness to the souls. To play music is to connect a feeling to a heart. This is why music is so essential in social gatherings.

I love listening to my clients’ wishes on their event. Whether to comfort, to brighten, to romanticize or to chillax… I have a sense of achievement when I find ways to recreate sounds that will match the vision of my clients.

Feel free to write to me about your visions! I score 9.8/10 on being nice!

I can’t wait to add a charming note on your special day!

Sincerely,
Han-Jou
